After graduating from DePaul University with degrees in Jazz Studies and Performing Arts Management, Andrew taught music and math in underserved Nashville schools through Teach for America. Inspired by the need for arts access, he founded Jazz Empowers in 2014 and launched its first programs the following year. Today, Jazz Empowers serves 50,000 students in 830 underserved schools and has raised over $5 million to expand jazz education opportunities. Andrew is also an accomplished trombonist who has performed with artists including Terrell Stafford, Jeff Hamilton, and Phil Woods.
