After graduating from the University of Texas at El Paso with a degree in Music Education and Saxophone, Danny spent several years performing and leading a Salsa/Timba group throughout the Southwest before moving to Los Angeles to teach and earn his Master’s degree in Woodwind Performance from Cal State Fullerton. He later moved to New York City and joined Jazz Empowers in 2016. Now entering his 22nd year in education, Danny serves as Regional Director for NYC and remains an active performer and bandleader in the city’s jazz scene.
