Jazz Empowers Celebrates a Sold-Out 2026 Nashville Gala
Jazz Empowers welcomed a packed house of 150 attendees to Analog at the Hutton Hotel in Nashville for our 2026 Nashville Gala — an unforgettable evening celebrating jazz education, student achievement, and the power of community.
The evening opened with the Don Aliquo Quintet performing the music of John Coltrane, setting the tone for a night rooted in excellence, artistry, and legacy.
Guests also enjoyed inspiring student performances from the Explore Community Jazz Band and the Easton Prep Jazz Band, showcasing the next generation of jazz musicians and the incredible impact of music education programs.
Jazz Empowers proudly celebrated the Memphis Central Jazz Program by hearing from students Donald Chism Jr. and \Jackson Hankins, alongside award-winning band director Dr. Ollie Liddell, recipient of the inaugural Jazz Empowers Educator of the Year Award.
The night culminated with students and professional musicians sharing the stage together for an electrifying collaborative performance that highlighted the connection between generations of jazz artists and educators.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Jazz Empowers successfully reached its fundraising goal of $20,000 — creating new opportunities for students and families through jazz education initiatives across the country.
“This was by far our best gala yet. The energy in the room was incredible, and it was a tangible way for all of our attendees to see the impact Jazz Empowers is making in Nashville and all across the country. Thank you to everyone who helped make this night possible.”
