Charter School Residency Program
We are now accepting placement schools for the 2018-2019 school year. The only requirement is that your school has Title 1 status. The most qualified schools will have the following attributes:
- Willingness to work collaboratively with Jazz Empowers to make the jazz band successful.
- Have a strong belief that extra-curricular activities, especially music, will enrich their students’ educations.
Schools can apply to two different programs, our Band Director Support program or our Charter School Residency Program. In our Band Director Support program we support band directors that want to direct the jazz band themselves. Our Charter School Residency Program is for schools that want us bring in a professional jazz educator to direct the school’s jazz band.
The application for our Charter School Residency Program for 2018-2019 will be active from February 20th, 2018 through April 13th, 2018. The application for the Band Director Support Program will be active from March 15th, 2018 through May 15th, 2018.
